Who We Are

Since 1982, Guest House of Milwaukee has been inspiring others to transform their lives with dignity and purpose by utilizing the available programs and services. Onsite, we shelter and support 86 adult men working to overcome housing instability and/or to realize and maintain prolonged recovery by achieving sobriety and positive mental health.

More recently, we have grown our permanent, supported housing program to serve individuals and families in more than 450 apartments throughout Milwaukee County. We have also added a homeless prevention program to better meet the evolving needs of our community. Together, these programs provide services for men, women, and families who not only have a history of homelessness but also those who are at risk of becoming homeless. Accordingly, many often overlooked but critical gaps are eliminated; resulting in more individuals who are able to maintain personal independence and overall well-being.

Guest House truly provides more than shelter to individuals and families in need!

Volunteers are a vital partner in our work, providing shelter office support, handing out basic needs items from our dispensary, donating hot meals every night of the year, making breakfast on weekends, providing professional services to our Fund Development team, supporting the work of our Cream City Gardens, and much more!
