Important items to note:

Do not make masks for donation if there is anyone in your home who: Smokes Has tested positive for COVID-19 Has any symptoms of any respiratory illness  Please prewash fabric, wash your hands and work in a clean environment. Work with the supplies you have at home.   If you do not have elastic options, you can drop off the masks without elastic and the hospital will add elastic and the filters for the pocket.  The hospital is in need of large, thin, metal-free elastic hair ties that are 6” long (pony tail rubber bands with covering).   Please do not try the masks on.

Volunteer: Start Right Milwaukee- Baby Board Book Drive

The benefits of reading to infants is well documented.  It has been found to contribute to the development of their growing brains, giving them a head start towards a lifelong love of reading.  Reading to infants helps language development and positively affects child development in many areas, including bonding of parent and child.

The Start Right Program of Children's Hospital of Wisconsin- Community Service, provides prenatal and child development education through home visiting services.  Donations of new board books is needed by the Start Right Program.  These books would in turn be given to families served, providing them a tool to use towards guiding their child's development and strengthening the parent-child bond.

The program is looking primarily for board and picture books, targeted towards children ages 0-5.  Please contact Sondra Russell at srussell@chw.org to arrange pick up/drop off of any donated books.

Thank you!
