Help students succeed! Imagine trying to learn if you cannot see the board at the front of the classroom or the book in front of you. With help from Prevent Blindness Wisconsin, volunteers will have the opportunity to directly impact children’s lives and school success through vision screening.
Volunteers will be trained and supervised by Prevent Blindness Wisconsin staff on the day of the screening. Volunteers will explain the screening process to students, help students cover up one eye at a time with an occluder paddle, point to letters on the vision screening chart, and record screening results.
This opportunity is a wonderful, hands-on experience in a United Way Community School and will directly impact the lives of the students who are screened. With your help, we can set students on the path to success by ensuring that they are vision-ready to learn!
