United Way is helping MPS celebrated the start of a new school year at our Community Schools across Milwaukee.
We are looking for volunteers from the community including elected officials, neighbors, community partners, alumni, and supporters of public education to welcome students and families as they arrive on the first day of school!
Volunteers should bring their smiles and be ready to give dozens of high fives and warm wishes to students and families for the new school year. Service will be on playgrounds and hallways in the hour preceding the first bell and a few minutes after. This is a great opportunity to show your support for the hard work that goes on all year in Milwaukee Public Schools.
The Community Schools that start on September 4th are Auer Avenue, Browning Elementary, Hopkins Lloyd, Lincoln Avenue, and Longfellow.
*When signing up indicate in the notes which school you would like to volunteer at*
