Help give children the powerful gift of new books to help them flourish into strong readers!

What is this event?

United Way partners with Scholastic Inc. to host My Very Own Library at 14 local Milwaukee Public Schools. At these book fairs, each student gets to pick out 5 FREE books to bring home with them to create their very own library!

Volunteer at this event:

• Socialize and help students pick out their 5 books
• Help keep books organized on shelves  
• Assist with check-out process of FREE books by using a register
• Assist in other areas of the classroom if needed

Date, School, and Shift times:

• Shifts will vary depending on the schools schedule. Both morning and afternoon shifts will be available that will last approximately 3 hours (ie: 8AM-12:30PM, 12PM-3PM). We will do our best to match your availability with a schools schedule.  

School List: Auer Avenue, Brown Street Academy, Browning, Doerfler, Gwen T. Jackson, Hopkins-Lloyd, Kagel, Kluge, Lancaster, Longfellow, Lincoln Avenue, Riley, Townsend Street, and Zablocki.
