Teasel refers to a group of flowering plants in the genus Dipsacus, most notably common teasel (Dipsacus fullonum) and cut-leaved teasel (Dipsacus laciniatus). These plants are biennial herbs, meaning they usually live for two years, forming a rosette of leaves in the first year and flowering in the second.
Teasel becomes invasive mainly because of its prolific seed production, adaptability, and lack of natural controls in introduced areas. Its ability to dominate and displace native vegetation makes it a concern for conservation and land management.
There are certain areas in our parks that need our attention and we need your help to "terminate" that Teasel and restore our natural park plants.
Please note that volunteers must be at least 18 to participate.
