Spend a day at Girl Scout camp pruning branches along the hiking trails at Chinook Program Center in Waukesha. Volunteers will spend the day pruning brush from road sides, hiking trails and walking paths. Groups will spread out around the property, so social distancing will be maintained in the fresh air. Lunch and Girl Scout cookies will be provided.
We need a minimum of 5 volunteers to host this event. Please sign up as a team.
In order to provide a safe environment for volunteers, girls and staff, we welcome volunteers who:
- Have not experienced any symptoms of COVID 19 (fever, cough, shortness of breath) or have tested positive in the past four weeks.
- Have not encountered anyone who tested positive for COVID -19 in the past two weeks.
Volunteers are required to wear a face mask while indoors at a GSWISE property or when they are within 6 feet of others on the property. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own face masks but if they do not have one, a mask will be provided for them. We have hand sanitizer and cleaning products available in each facility, which are cleaned and disinfected daily. All GSWISE staff members will be wearing masks when working with girls and volunteers. Our volunteer opportunities are planned so participants can maintain social distancing and follow recommended safety procedures including current capacity limits per the county where each opportunity is located.
