Wisconsin School Music Association's Choral Concert Festival is taking place in Milwaukee on April 19th and we need your support! Volunteers will guide choral groups throughout the morning as they arrive at MYAC, visit their warm up room, perform for a judge, and make their way back to their bus. Volunteers will need to be comfortable working with students and moving on their feet. All information will be shared with volunteers when they arrive and volunteers will receive an orientation to the building.
Volunteer shifts are 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Volunteers do not need to have experience with choral groups or musical performance. Students will be supervised by school staff, but having someone guide the group through the building is very helpful.
Volunteers will get to hear some of the best student choral performances from around the city during their service!
Participation in the Concert Festival benefits school music programs by reinforcing and supporting the work that music teachers are doing with students every day. It provides students a forum for discussion and self-reflection on their own performance as well as the performance of others. It also challenges students toward performance excellence and challenges ensembles to continue to program quality music.
