Milwaukee Public Schools is holding our second annual Explore STEM Expo in Washington Park on June 11, 2016. The Explore STEM Expo provides students and their families with a variety of hands-on activities and displays centering on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). This event is free and open to the public.
We are looking for volunteers to make this event a success! Do you have a science, technology, engineering or mathematics-related talent you are willing to share with students and the community? Volunteers will work with exhibitors, students and families on a STEM-related activity, project, or game. Volunteers should be comfortable speaking with students of different ages, working on projects, and assisting the exhibitors.
The goals of the Explore STEM Expo are to 1) build awareness about STEM for students and their families, 2) show students how fun and interesting STEM can be, 3) show students how STEM relates to their everyday life, and 4) expose students to college and career opportunities in STEM. You are an integral part of making this happen!
