Do you enjoy making crafts? Can you crochet and/or knit? Turn your hobby into healing by becoming a craft volunteer...all from the comfort of your own home!
Heartland Hospice needs more talented craft volunteers to donate items that will bring comfort to patients facing life-limiting illnesses. The sky's the limit when it comes to what will bring a smile to a patient's face, but some suggestions include: new bed sheets (full size extra long or with deep pockets), memory/comfort bears made from loved one's clothing, crocheted lap blankets/shawls/slippers, fleece blankets, seasonal items, veterans appreciation items, stuffed animals (teddy bears) or pillows, fidget/twiddle blankets or hand-muffs for dementia patients, and any other craft item that will brighten a patient's room. Items can be dropped off at Heartland's business office in Milwaukee.
This is your chance to make a BIG difference without even leaving your doorstep! Please contact Volunteer Coordinator Gypsi (414-944-2048; cheryl.kernats@heartlandhospice.com) if you're interested in donating handmade gifts of comfort to our hospice patients. We're waiting to hear from you!
