iCan Bike Summer Bike Camp Volunteer (Shift 3)

Expired

Description

The Autism Society of Southeastern Wisconsin is hosting an iCan Bike program for people with disabilities ages eight to eighty eight.  This camp will run for one week in the summer at Nicolet High School in Glendale, WI. Approximately 80% of the people who participate in our program ride a two-wheel bicycle independently at the end of our five day program!  This program is not possible without volunteers.  Volunteers are needed as spotters and provide physical, emotional, and motivational support to their assigned riders.  Most importantly, you must be willing to get some exercise for a great cause!  Shifts are available for 90 minutes each day and it is required that you must be able to attend during the same shift Monday through Friday for the week of June 26-30, 2017. You will be assigned to the same rider each day and celebrate their progress during this week of camp!

Volunteer requirements:

-At least 16 years old

-Able to attend 90 minutes shifts each of the five days of camp

-Able to provide physical, emotional, and motivational support to assigned rider

-Willing and able to get some exercise (light jogging/running)

To complete volunteer sign-up documentation, see http://assew.org/BikeCamp2017. An optional orientation will be held on Sunday, June 25th at 3:30 pm.
