Paper or Plastic Event

Friedens Community Ministries, Inc. is a network of food pantries building ladders of peace throughout Milwaukee. We believe a dependable supply of food is a way of bringing hope and dignity to our community. Celebrating our 40th year as a local nonprofit, our organization is committed to individuals whose basic food needs are not being met. As the largest food pantry network in Milwaukee, in 2017 we provided approximately 58,000 individuals with 5 days of food at our network of four food pantries. Distributing almost $1,000,000 worth of food! 

We would like you to consider volunteering at our third “Paper or Plastic” fundraising event, which will take place on Saturday, March 3rd, 2018 at the Knights of Columbus Hall (92nd St) in West Allis, WI. At “Paper or Plastic” local businesses and restaurants will contribute to the creation of a simple meal made from food typically found at our pantries. Not only will the event highlight the many issues surrounding food insecurity, but it will also demonstrate the types of meals one can provide to families on a limited budget. Our desire in 2018 is to raise at least $40,000 in commemoration of our 40th year of service!
