Help give children the powerful gift of new books to help them flourish into strong readers!
What is this event?
United Way partners with Scholastic Inc. to host Build My Bookshelf at 4 Waukesha Schools. At these book fairs each student gets to pick out 5 free books to bring home with them and create their very own library!
Volunteer at this event:
- Help students pick out books
- Help keep books organized
- Assist with check-out process of FREE books
- Assist in other areas of the classroom if needed
Schools:
When signing up for a shift, please put your preferred school in the note field. Otherwise we will place you at the greatest need.

Shifts: 12/17/19 (Select one shift or select two and stay for the day!)
- 8:00am-12:00pm
- 12:00pm-3:00pm
- 8:00am-3:00pm

If you have not completed a background check with Waukesha School District, please click this link: Background Check
1) Choose the top option "Category 2 Volunteer" and click Continue
2) Enter any school for where you are volunteering
Other Information:
- Once you sign-up you will receive your placement, confirm the shift time, and a link to the Waukesha Background Check Process.
- Teams of 2-4 per shift are accepted
