What is Project Homeless Connect?

Project Homeless Connect is a unique event that brings a variety of resources under one roof to help individuals experiencing homelessness gain access to their basic needs. Resources provided at this event include everything from free haircuts to resume coaching. Volunteering at this event gives you the opportunity to both brighten the lives of these individuals and to help create an immeasurable positive impact on our Milwaukee community!
Volunteer Opportunity Description:
We will have rewarding activities throughout the day/shift including interacting with clients attending the event, meeting like-minded volunteers, learning about resources in our community and sharing your goodwill with others. Your flexibility to join in with other elements of the event is greatly appreciated as other needs arise. Thank you for offering your time, talent and kindness.

Guest Advocate Volunteers will most often act as a guide to help our community members navigate through the resources and services provided throughout 4 floors of the Marquette facility. You will interact one-to-one with an individual until all needed services/resources have been visited. When the guest leaves, the Guest Advocates will then return to the intake area to escort another guest. There are other areas volunteers may assist with throughout the day including lunch assistance, health & hygiene room, clothing bank, check in/check out, or to assist in other resource areas.
Shifts:

Morning 9:00am-1:00pm

Afternoon 11:00am-3:00pm

All day 9:00am-3:00pm
Other Information:
- Everyone individually must pre-register on this posting in order to secure a spot to volunteer. "Team sign up" is unavailable; each volunteer must pre-register. There will be no volunteer walk-ins the day of.
