Join in for the 13th Annual Ready.Set.Work! Milwaukee Women's Job Seminar 2019! Volunteers will help local women develop new professional skills, boost their confidence and access the resources they need to boost their job search prospects and start a new career! Help us break barriers to employment at this exciting yearly event.
Role Duties for Resume Coach: Volunteers will be paired to work one on one or in small groups with seminar attendees to create, update or polish an existing professional resume. Volunteers should be prepared to assist a guest from start to finish, helping to showcase the individual’s skills and experiences in a professional manner. Professional HR or recruiting experience not required, just a desire to help a local woman feel empowered and prepared!
Volunteers should also be prepared to provide feedback on any job or resume-related questions including how to address gaps in employment on a resume and how to craft a compelling interest statement. Experience in evaluating resumes is a bonus but certainly not required.
Time Commitment: Three, hour-long, rotating shifts will take place throughout the morning and early afternoon of the event. We are encouraging volunteers to work with one attendee at each session time slot, helping them with their resume. You can sign up for one shift, or join us for all three. Volunteers that plan to share their time for the second and third shifts (immediately before and directly following the lunch hour) are invited to join us for lunch.
Shift times -
10:15-11:15am - Session 1
11:15-12:15pm - Session 2
1:15-2:15pm - Session 3
