Wait, what are we building?

The Stockboxes are part of the CSFP program organized, prepared, and distributed through Hunger Task Force. We make about 10,000 Stockboxes per month, and your volunteering is a huge contribution to the continuation of this program at Hunger Task Force! The Stockboxes themselves consist of healthy food options including protein, fruit, dry grain, juice, cereals, and vegetables. Recipients of Stockbox are eligible seniors in Milwaukee County, based on age and income level.

Safety:

Hunger Task Force makes all possible efforts to ensure a safe environment for its volunteers. Volunteers are under the direct supervision of Hunger Task Force staff and should follow written and verbal instructions for their own safety.

What to Wear / Footwear Policy:

Clothing: We will be working in a warehouse environment, so layers are good. Hot weather, t-shirts and shorts are appropriate. Cold weather, long pants and layers.

Footwear:  Tennis shoes or work boots! No open-toed shoes allowed in any Hunger Task Force warehouse for safety reasons. We are building Stockboxes filled with food items like cans veggies and meats, and cartons of juice and milk. Would you want to drop those items on your foot?

(We have a designated space for coats and personal items at the Stockbox build locationHunger Task Force is not to be held responsible for the loss or damage of any personal property)

Food and Beverages:

Water: Hunger Task Force does not provide bottled water to Stockbox volunteer groups. Therefore, it is strongly encouraged to bring a REUSABLE water bottle to the build. We have a very cold water fountain which is always available during the session.

Food: Snacks and treats are recommended during this three-hour volunteer session. We are moving and grooving during the session so keeping up energy and blood sugar is necessary.

(We have a refrigerator and kitchen area available to volunteers for storing food and beverages)
