JFS Housing is in need of volunteers to help prepare the raised garden beds and planters at Bradley Crossing for winter. By ensuring proper care of the beds and planters, we will be able to provide residents of JFS Housing the space to grow all sorts of fruits, vegetables, and flowers for years to come!
There are 12 raised garden beds and 2 planters that need to be cleaned out. Volunteers will be responsible for digging up and bagging the plants, flowers, and weeds in and around the beds and planters. Volunteers should bring work gloves and although most of the work can be done by hand, if there are any tools volunteers prefer to work with, they should bring those along.
In order to provide a safe environment for volunteers, staff, and clients we welcome volunteers who:
- Have not experienced any symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, cough, shortness of breath) or tested positive in the past four weeks.
- Have not encountered anyone who tested positive for COVID-19 in the past two weeks.
Volunteers are required to wear a face mask at all times while on JFS property. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own face masks, but if they do not have one, one will be provided for them. All JFS staff members will be wearing face masks. We invite a maximum of 5 volunteers to participate so we may provide social distancing. Each volunteer will be assigned their own section of garden beds or planters.
