The Community Outreach Ambassador will need to be available for events that take place in Washington County. The Volunteer will need to be versed in FRIENDS services, be able to assist someone if they are interested in services or volunteering, and be comfortable providing support if someone discloses an assault or abuse.
Duties: Tabling at outreach events, engaging with audience, displaying FRIENDS resources appropriately at events, being comfortable discussing domestic and sexual violence.
Qualifications: Communication skills, some awareness of domestic and sexual violence, passionate, practices cultural humility, flexible and reliable.
Gainful Experience: Resume building skills, diverse knowledge of the impact domestic and sexual violence has the community and individuals, potential networking contacts, volunteering for a great and needed cause.
Training: 1-hour introduction orientation, 2 hours of services overview, trauma-informed training, and minimum of 1 shadowing session.
